AMERICAN CETACEAN SOCIETY
WHALE WATCH TRIP JUNE 29, 2013
The ACS marine mammal cruise fundraiser on Saturday, June 29, 2013 was
the topic of a Monterey County Herald article entitled "Monterey
Bay seeing a lot of majestic blue whales". In addition to the
blue whales, there were numerous humpback whales, fin whales, Risso's
dolphins, sea otters, sea lions and an albatross. Nancy Black and Richard
Ternullo of Monterey
Bay Whale Watch offered this trip as a benefit to ACS/MB's educational
programs and research grants to local graduate students. Local distinguished
naturalists were on board to offer explanations and background information
concerning the marine mammals, birds and other creatures encountered.
